Is the two day trial really free?
Yes — both days are completely free, no obligation. It is how every dog joins the pack and the perfect way to see if Pup Paradise is the right fit.
Where do I drop my dog off?
Daily drop-off and collection takes place at the Chiltern Velo Cafe, Hawridge Common, Hawridge, HP5 2UQ — not at the facility itself. Drop-off is between 08:30 and 09:00. The Cafe is right there so you can grab a coffee while your pup sets off.
What vaccinations does my dog need?
Your dog will need to be vaccinated against canine parvovirus, distemper, adenovirus, infectious canine hepatitis, all four strains of leptospirosis, and kennel cough. The primary course must be completed at least two weeks before the first day.
Do I need to bring food?
Usually no. Most dogs are fed at home before or after their day. If your dog does need to be fed during the day, just let the team know in advance and bring food from home in their usual container. If food is accidentally forgotten, Pup Paradise has a small selection available — the team will agree this with you and the cost is reimbursed. Raw meat diets are not permitted.
What is the neutering policy?
All dogs over one year of age must be neutered or spayed. Dogs under one year do not need to be neutered to attend. Exceptions are assessed individually.
Do you accept XL Bullies?
No. Pup Paradise does not currently accept XL Bullies. All other breeds are considered individually through the screening process.
How do cancellations work?
Let the team know in writing before 1pm on the previous working day to receive a credit valid for two months. If you notify after that deadline, the day is charged in full.
How do I cancel my membership?
There is a 28-day settling-in period during which you can cancel immediately with no notice and receive a refund for any unused days. After that, one month's written notice is required. There is no minimum contract term.
What if my dog becomes unwell during the day?
The owner is contacted immediately. The dog is separated from the pack, kept calm and comfortable, and monitored. The owner is asked to collect as soon as possible.
Are dogs ever left alone?
No. Dogs are supervised throughout the day. If a staff member needs to leave due to a personal emergency, back-up staff are called in.
Do you serve Chesham and Tring?
Yes — we have members travelling from Chesham, Tring, Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, and across the Dacorum area. If you are able to drop off and collect within our opening hours, get in touch.
How far is Pup Paradise from Berkhamsted?
We are approximately 2 miles from Berkhamsted town centre, in Heath End, HP4 3UB.
Do you collect dogs from the local area?
No — there are no vans or collection routes. Owners drop off and collect by the Chiltern Velo Cafe at Heath End, and dogs are walked by the team down the footpath to the site.
Is there a vet nurse at the dog day care?
Yes — Pup Paradise is co-founded by a qualified vet nurse. Professional animal welfare knowledge is embedded in how every day is run.
What qualifications does the team have?
The team is canine first aid trained, DBS checked, and fully insured. Pup Paradise holds a 4-star local authority licence and is co-founded by a qualified vet nurse.
